Default Michelin Tires

Has anyone used Michelin tires on their tourer, Ultra, Road King, Street Glide etc? I'm thinking of getting Michelins next tire change. I'd love to hear the pros and cons

Default Michelin tires

I tried the Michelin's a couple of years ago on my 03 Ultra. For the first couple thousand miles they were great. As the wore, the bike started handling very poorly, especially on groove pavement. I took them off at 5000 miles and went to Elite 3's.

The search function on this new board works great! There are quite a few threads on the Michelins.

Here is a link to one of them.

I am now on my third rear Michelin and really like them.

Thumbs up

Right at 6k on this first set of Commanders on the Ultra. Still amazed at how well they handle and the ride quality/smoothness.

Wouldn't think of changing to anything different!

Yeah, you know why it feels more stable? It is! Loads more traction than the lops and does not follow the tar snakes.

Only have about 500 miles on them so far but they seem way better than stock. Much smoother ride and they track great.

What tire pressure do you use when riding alone? Michelin told me to run whatever the HD manual states which is 36 front and rear.

I've had them on for about 1000 miles. So far so good. They seem more forgiving and not as hard as the dunlops. Softer sidewalls if you ask me. Metzler rears in the same size seem a lot wider if that means anything.
