Mets 880's air pressure
Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread but thought it may be helpful to share this. If you are running metz 880s you need 40 PSI in the front and 46 in the rear running solo (42 & 48 w passenger). I was getting confusing info after purchasing my first set so I called Metzler. The guy said most of the time when they see a problem it's due to low air pressure.

That is weird Yesca.
On my '05 Ultra, the difference was phenomenal going from Lops to Commanders.
The Commanders "STICK" to the road and DON'T follow the snakes ever.
Much much better highway and city handling for sure.
Biggest change was in the freeways.
I plan to stick with Michelins forever and then some.
5000 miles and lovin' em.

I ran the Metzler's 880, and didn't have much luck with them. They gripped pretty well (sticky) but they wore out really fast. I've been through most all of them, and I'm running Dunlop's Elite 3's. You can get a set (Front and Rear) from Dennis Kirk including shipping for right around $200. I've got a set on order now. I used to get them from Ron Ayers, good prices, but I had to pay shipping. For what it's worth.

While Michelin's coorporate headquarters may be somewhere in France, they are providing good jobs to the people in South Carolina where the commander line is made. Check where your Metzellers are being made now....Brazil...how does supporting them or their German masters help us any?
Then why do the Commanders I bought the end of July say "Made In Spain" on them....????
BTW... I do like them, handling is more responsive.

Michelin Commanders - Thumbs Up
I have a 2007 FLHTC.
1st Rear Tire - Dunlop - Lasted 9,500 miles
2nd Rear Tire - Dunlop - Lasted 9,500 miles
Front Dunlop easily lasted through both rears.
Went to Michelin Commanders...
3rd Rear Tire - Michelin Commander - Currently at 10,000 miles with 3/32nds left. Estimate 12,000 miles.
Front tire still has close to original 5/32nds. It should easily go the distance of 2 rear tires if not more.
Usually ride 2 up so I keep air pressures at 36 front and 40 rear.
Handles well and is wearing very even. As a note, I also use 2 oz of Dyna Beads in each tire in lieu of conventional wheel weights.
