Default Received my Scara Q2 headsets

Easy to install on the OL's 3/4 helmet. I'm using a 1/2 helmet and it sat a bit too high for my taste so I made some changes.

My helmet has the covered section where the straps come down at the ears. I made two small holes there and mount the receiver there. Then I installed the HD ear flaps for the speakers. It looks good and is mounted in the correct position for the mike. I have them charging now so no actual tests yet. Will pair them tomorrow.

Glad they arrived in time for out trip next week. The units look pretty rugged and appear to be a really good quality.

How about some pics of the installation!

OK, now put them on, send your wife for a walk down the block and tell us how they sound. I'm really thinking about a set of these for myself, but want to know how they work before putting down the $300

I'll test them out tomorrow. They recommend a 5 hour charge minimum before using them for the first time. It's late and there is no way I'd convince the OL to go for a walk.

Today I synced the headsets and also to my iPhone. I don't intend to talk on the phone while riding, I just wanted to test the feature.

Headset comms is clear and audible. Even while travelling at speeds of 70-75 mph it was clear. While walking around with it, I went over 500 meters and it was still like I was standing next the the person I was talking to. The phone option was just as clear too.
So far I am very impressed with the product. The real test will be next week while on our trip. I'm curious to see how long the battery will last. I'll let you know the results.

You did a great job on the 1/2 helmet. Look forward to your report from the trip. That battery life issue has always been a concern for me.

Let us know how this all works out. And I presume that you cannot connect to the CB. Or is there a way to speak to other bikes?

My bike is a Street Glide so the CB wasn't an option. If another rider has a Scala model then we can connect.

FWIW, my friend called this afternoon while the wife & I were riding and he didn't know that I was on my bike until I told him. He was surprised at how clear it was. I heard him clearly and comms with the OL was flawless.

We are both glad we bought these before our trip next week. It will make it a bit more enjoyable.
