Default Steel Spokes Or Aluminum Profile On 09 RKC

Which wheels would you get on a Road King Classic ?? The standard steel spoke wheels or the Aluminum profile spoked wheels ??? How much lighter are the aluminum wheels ??? Any handling differences ???
THANKS

gotta go with aluminum profile spokes! they are smooth, no ridges, and look awesome. Spokes on a Classic are a must!!
May as well get the good ones!

I had them swap out the profile for the standard wheels before taking delivery of my 07. I didn't like the way the ridge in the tire where the rim normally comes to was visible on the profile rims. Several of the bikes on the showroom floor had black lines at that hard edge. Not to mention the profile wheels were several hundred $ more. Maybe a little less unsprung weight would be better, but not for me in the big picture.

I prefer the stock 29 spoke wheels that I will be putting them on my 09 FLHX. We sold a 09 RK and the customer prefers the profile spoke rims. My mc happen to have them on at delivery and the salesman wanted me to trade. Of course I said yes and I did not have to pay for labor or the upgrade of the profile spoke rims. Life is good...

I have the aluminum Profile laced wheels on my Ultra. They're easier to clean than the steel wheels and the spokes are chrome plated, which looks better.

Have the Steel Spokes on the RKC and the Profiles on the RG and I think I like the Steel on the Classic as it's more of the Classic Look (Older School).

I won't buy another bike with spoke wheels again... If you have a flat with the spoked wheel (tubed) there's no plugging the tire to get you back on the road until you can get it replaced. Just my 2 cents...

Any wheel other than a spoke on a bike with white walls looks like @ss IMHO. For that bike, either spoke wheel will look good but the profile look a little more trick. They are lighter, easier to clean, and also have chrome spokes which will look better in a few years if you take care of them.
