Default Wiring in an accessory

I had no luck googling this or on hdfs search but is there a site or how to to wire in something that would run off of a cigarette lighter??? I seen the Cigarette lighter when I bout the bike and thought sweet a power source but before plugging anything into it I read the manual and sure as **** it says its not for a power source. Has anyone used it to plug a cell phone in or something like that? Im embarrassed to say it but I bought a tomtom so I can explore some far away places and not get lost. I have factory navi in my car and love it, and I also said navi has no place on a motorcycle but low and behold here I am looking to mount one. If it can be wired in Im looking to make it clean and hidden I will honestly use it on the bike maybe twice a summer so I dont want it showing if you know what I mean. I also see the acc switch which isnt hooked up so I would imagine I could use that maybe. Thanks in advance guys.

I would think a tomtom gps wouldnt suck as much power as heated gear. I dont wanna risk blowing a fuse on the road and not knowing what I will lose. My luck the fly by wire throttle will crap out on the HWY

My GPS is wired into the back of the cigarette lighter.&nbsp\\; I spliced a second cigarette lighter socket inside the fairing.&nbsp\\; No problems.

no problem using the GPS in the lighter socket, just make sure you have a low amp fuse in the GPS line to protect it.. the one for the lighter is too high amps.
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;been using mine for 2 yrs with no prob
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;I got the battery tender setup for the winter when the bike's in storage.. modified the battery harness so I can plug my heated clothing into it when I'm on the road, then the battery tender when I'm home.

Thanks guys!! Id rather just plug into the lighter so I dont have to hard wire anything that really dont need to be permanent.
