Default 07 roadking exhaust

looking for input on removing the factory exhaust and putting on a pair of slip ons, at the dealer they stated that the computer needs upgrading and cost for pipes and aircleaner and upgrade is around 750.00...................................
&nbsp\\;
has anyone done just the pipes and not the rest, if so how does it run,&nbsp\\; I do not have much experience with fuel injection, my last bike was carb and that was easy to adjust.
&nbsp\\;
thanks

On my 07 king,I put rinehart slip-ons and ordered a set of the regular IED's from Nightrider.com and my bike runs great and alot cooler.You really don't need to even do the IED's but for 69.00 dollars it was well worth it.

.
&nbsp\\;
Python slip ons here....stock air cleaner....O2's should be able to compensate for minor better breathability changing A/F ratio.
&nbsp\\;
IED's??&nbsp\\; I havnt heard of this...what is it?
&nbsp\\;

Just SLIP-ONS you should have NO PROBLEMS as long as theyre not Drag Pipes. But dont look for any performance gains or heat reduction with just slip-ons

Dont waist your MONEY with a Download as the dealer is required to adjust it to EPA standards and thats LEAN. If your not planning any more then a Basic Stage 1. Go Ness BS and FuelPac

I think the dealer may be wanting to slip you a bologni sandwich. If you're just putting on mufflers you don't need to do anything with the aircleaner or remap. A good set of slip-ons from Reinhardt or V&amp\\; H shouldn't cost you more than $400.

They are plug and play inline resistors that go between the O2 connectors that trick the ecm into believing the engine is running leaner than it actually is,therefore the ecm richens it up to compensate for it.The regular IED's are advertized to richen it up from a air fuel ratio of 14.7 to 14.2.The XIED's will take it to 13.8 AFR.This in turn cools the engine a little stops some surging from being so lean from the factory.There are a bunch of threads about it,go to search and type in IED's and you will find out alot more or just go to the Nightrider.com website.

A good practice is to talk to other bikers before you let the dealer rope you into something you may not necessarily need. Trust your fellow bikers - always.

I installed a set of V&amp\\;H ovals had no problems, other than a little popping during decel.&nbsp\\; I installed a set of Night Rider IED's that seemed to help with the popping.
