Hey Doug,
I read your review, thats why I am thinking of doing the bars... They look great but I don't want to bring them back any. It just feels funny to me. Do you think there is room for the wires if I drill out HD chrome bars???
That's a real good question. My answer is maybe, but I just can't say for sure. The wiring harnesses are not that thick, but the key is whether or not you could pull them through the bends. All that I can tell you is that my first harness pulled through the Chubby's fairly easily (right side), but the second harness (left side) was much more difficult towards the end because the right side harness was somewhat "blocking the exit" for lack of a better term.

If you taped up the harnesses real good AND lubricated them you might just be able to pull it off. Sorry that I can't be more definitive.

Doug

RHinoHD the stock bars on the SG is big enough to run wires through. I called local shop that's doing my bike and that what he did to mines.
Did you get chrome Bars to replace the old ones?

My dad has a 04 SE-EG, the bike came with 1" chrome bars with the wires ran internally. I did use Chubby bars on my RK and my RG. I didn't like the feel of the stock bars on those two bikes. They looked alot better also with the Chubby bars, especially the RK. On the SG, I like the feel of the stock bars and don't want to loose the fairing mirrors. If I could find some 1-1/4" bars that have the same dimensions as the stock bars, I would use them.
