I have seen on this forum that the Bremo Brake conversion is possible. Those brakes just have a solid feel to them. The HD tech at the demo rides told me that the prime reason for the frame change was to add the wider tire. He also said to add room for the crossover pipe under the frame.

I think you'll be happy.

I don't know if you added the antilock brakes but personally, I would buy the antilock brakes if I was buying new. The added price vs added safety, to me is a no brainer, specially after riding back from the rally and hitting some heavy rain.

The Brembo brakes are outstanding and ABS is worth its weight in gold\\; I almost hit a large buck in the hills last Saturday and I was able to slow way down really fast with no skidding. With my old bike the results would have been ugly.

It has ABS, Apparently the Dealers are allotted so maney Bikes of certain types and options on each shipment depending on the size of the dealership. The way I under stood it, My Dealer is getting 1 Black Ultra on his first 09 shipment and it just so happen to have ABS.

I just received the new issue of American Iron. They did a comprehensive write up on the 2009 Touring Bike changes. AI said the changes to the touring bikes make a big difference.

As they note, the old frame was the end result of 90 different stampings, castings and lengths of bent tubing.
The new frame is built around a single-spar, 2-piece stamped and welded backbone with no bent tubing. There are 50% less frame components and 50% less welds.
They said, that the new frame combined with the new 4 mounting blocks for the engine make a big difference.

In the end, AI claims that the improvements gained from the new frame and redesigned swingarm are apparent BIG TIME and that the changes were worth the wait.

I saw the pictures in AIM. That exhaust crossover looks like its gonna drag easily. The wheels will, hopefully, look better in person. The stiffer chassis has gotta help but they added a couple bowling ***** of weight, instead of taking it off.

I read the frame is suppose to make a great improvement to the handling bike as well, which if it stiffens up any weak points I'm sure it does. An improved swingarm and bushings are things this bike has needed for a long time. But I couldn't see that riding two up on the 20 minute, follow the leader group ride that they put you through on the Demo rides.
