I'm glad they did it. I just wish they did it last year when I bought mine 'cuz now I'm kinda pissed. That puny little rear tire is my only real complain about my '08 FLHX. Anyone got $3900 I can borrow to send to Fat Baggers?

I wouldn't call the 180 on the Touring bikes wide. I would call it average. Not sure but I bet the Wing has a 180 too. I also think your wrong about the load rating....didn't it go up with the 09 models? The other advantage of a 180 is tire life is going to be significantly better. \\;

More often than not, \\;\\\\\\;wider tires \\;\\\\\\;turn in slower, weight more therefore sap more whp, \\;\\\\\\;and ride worse (esp. if a lower profile). This is not just my opinion, most wide tire cruisers \\;\\\\\\;are not well received by the motorcycling press. Anything over a 180/190 makes no sense even for GP bikes, and they're funnelling 200+hp \\;\\\\\\;to their contact patch.  \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;
 \\;\\\\\\;
But a \\;\\\\\\;180 isn't gonna \\;\\\\\\;do much harm as if it were a 250, \\;\\\\\\;but it's not a functional upgrade IMO on a Harley tourer. \\;\\\\\\;And on \\;\\\\\\;a Heritage or RKC, it \\;\\\\\\;looks \\;\\\\\\;wrong.  \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;

Its called doing what the consumer wants. \\; MOCO will do whatever the majority approves of to sell. \\; Even if it offends a few. \\; After all, they are a business and bottom line is, they are here to make money. \\; I wish my FLHX had a little wider rear. \\; Oh well, the next bike will.
