RE: Lies
Not sure of what your complaint is when you refer to "reving" to get started in first gear. \\; Standard transmission cars (and our bikes) require us to add gas as we release the clutch.
 \\;
Lots of riders have felt that the gearing in the Touring bikes \\;has been \\;too tall since HD went to the 3:15 final drive in '02, and more recently with the '07 and '08 Touring model six-speeds. \\; The added dry weight of the '09's and their ability to carry more weight may
be the reason for the lower gearing. \\; Whether that's a "lie" or not, I guess everyone can form their own opinionmine is that's it not.

RE: Lies
Baker wouldn't have to build a 7 speed to address the change in gearing. They are building a 7 speed because they see an opportunity to satisfy the '07 and up owners that prefer a shorter 1st gear, want to eliminate the 1st and 5th gear whine, don't mind shifting thru 7 gears and have the $$$$ to spend. Anyone want to guess what this little package will cost?????
