Default Lift table verses bike jack

Will take del. of SG in aprox. 7 days and I've been playing with the idea of a lift. At first I was thinking of the bike lift from Sears. I read the reviews on the forum and it seems to be ok. Then I read that someone has the lift table from harbor freight cost aprox $300.00. My question is why would you want a bike jack over a table lift. any benetfits either way? Also if you compare harbor freight to one that is called Black Widow aprox. $459.0 they look the same.

they both serv diferent purposes, when you go to change the front tire on a lift table you will wish you had both!! i sure would mind having one of each. just too damn cheap!

If you have a table with a drop tail, can't you just back the bike onto the table and into the clamp, jack frame at front (gotta jack the rear if ur removing rear wheel), and drop out the front wheel? [sm=confused06.gif]

getting both would be the best. I think you'll find the jack will get more use. A big help when cleaning and almost any service, plus you can move the bike around you garage while it is on the jack - cant do that on the lift.
With either one, be sure to use the safety lock so it won't lower unless you want it to.

I have the sears aluminum lift and am very happy with it. But for another $300 I can buy the table lift from Habor Freight, is very tempting.
Another thing to go on my wish list

Sure like my table lift. I have Direct Lift and it works well for me. I can rotate the back tire via a small center lift I use on the main lift. The 5% of Front tire just gets cleaned when I take it down.

Harbor Freight sells a table with a drop rear for $400. My jack was from Sam's Club for $79.00. Either way, you can do all your maintenance with either stand. If I had the room, I would have the table as it would bring it up to my level more and would eliminate all the bending and twisting when I detail the bike and change the oil. Just go with what your wallet can handle.

If you get the floor jack then you can buy more chrome. Food for thought.

Good luck!
