I purchased new grips for my 2008 Street Glide, and yes the HD dealer told me they would work. I&nbsp\\;removed the left one, everything went fine, went to do the throttle grip and the grips I bought does not have the teeth in the end cap to work the electronic throttle.&nbsp\\; Obviously grips for cable throttles are different or am I doing something wrong.&nbsp\\; I thought I would save a little $$ doing it myself.&nbsp\\;Guess I was wrong.&nbsp\\; Please shed some light before I go back to the dealer and make a fool out of myself.

check the part number on your "new" grips. If it does NOT end in -08- then you got the wrong grips.
If you got a good dealer, they should swap them out at no charge since it was their screw-up.

 

If your Dealer said they would work? Then NO. Take them back and have them exchange them. If you picked them up not thinking that the 08 is different. Then YES.

When purchasing parts (even with parts dept. staffs help) always read the part # and description and see if it fits your year and make of bike. If not put it back.
