Hi all, my 04 Road King is doing something strange. When I first turn on the switch the lights come on and go out as normal, but after I start it the security key light comes back on and stays on for 10 seconds or so then goes right back out and stays out till i shut it off and start it back up again. Is this normal?

i had a trouble code on my ultra but it was the check engine light that came on after starting the bike

 

stealer helped diagnose problem turned out to be fuel injection misfire after riding through a downpour. the dealer should be able to help.

 

Had the same code come on a while back..turns out that if the code light goes out right around 2-3 secs after selecting the run switch, then comes back on around 5-8 secs later then goes off and stays off, it is a code in the computers memory history..if the problem does not return after 50 more starts then the code light will re-set and not come back on unless a problem re-occurs. This was explained in the maintenance manual.
