On the saltflats during Speedweek somebody brought an Electra trike. I rode it for two days all over the place and found it to be serious fun! It takes some getting used to but I know I could and would.
Get triked and enjoy it!

just remember the trike needs frame neck rake and rides much differently than a bike. sidecar is also a diff ride. either way being in the wind is worth the sacrifice!

I'd hack it before a trike ..
&nbsp\\;
Ya hatfta learn a whole new riding technique either way ..
&nbsp\\;
About ten years ago the Lehman trike conversions were about $10 grand I was told , I never priced it , but for $5 grand you can hack it from Harley&nbsp\\;.. They recommend regearing the motor sprocket up one tooth I believe ..
&nbsp\\;
Have tried to convince my wife for years , and she aint going for the hack ..

I'm 42 yrs old and had my right knee totally replaced March 24, and had great luck. I also have been riding for a month and a half. I would try the knee replacement first. Just alittle bit cheaper(with insurance)!

Get the surgery.&nbsp\\; Those techniques have advanced so much lately that it'll probably last till you're 90, then go with the side car, not the trike.&nbsp\\; Side car can carry two or three grandkids.&nbsp\\; That's the way I'm going in the future...

I worked in surgery for 17 years. Did lots of bi-lateral knee replacements. Talk to your doc about it. Get all of the surgical pain over with at once, Rehab goes well because you can't baby the surgical side. There have been great advancements in the durability of the materials so they last longer before (or if) revision is necessary.

I'm not saying you still might not need to mod your bike at some point. But two wheels or three wheels, you still gotta walk at both ends of the ride!

I've known several folks that had both knees done at the same time.&nbsp\\; It is a bear for rehab, but it is done.&nbsp\\; I'll be in the same game at some point.&nbsp\\; 6 back surgeries logged already.
