I live about 225 miles NE of Sturgis, been doing some 300 mile weekend runs.&nbsp\\; weather has been good &amp\\; warm ( hot) , scattered thunder storms at night.&nbsp\\; possible hail in evening.&nbsp\\; some road construction between Sturgis &amp\\; Rapid City on interstate.

Incredible riding around sturgis this time of year.
Spearfish canyon to Deadwood, Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, Custer national Park, Devil's tower.
All incredible rides through some beautiful country.

I too am heading out from the Houston area on Wed. the 30th. Planning on riding all the places just listed in the past several posts. We are staying 7 miles from Sturgis in Whitewood.
&nbsp\\;
Checked the weather channel seems the highs will be in the 80's and lows in the 50's. Does anyone think leathers will be necessary? I hate to carry that heavy coat if I don't have too. Would a nice light jacket do?

Just got back from a 10 day road trip to the Badlands and the Black hills. Weather was great only rain we ran into was about a 45 minute thunder shower when we were leaving Strugis heading to Deadwood. The temp's were low 80's to low 90's pretty much each day.

I'm leaving for there Sat a.m. 26th.&nbsp\\; Going through Red Lodge, Big Horn, Buffalo, and then on to Sturgis and Rapid City.&nbsp\\; Do it every year.&nbsp\\; Great riding, just make sure rain gear is close by.
