Default Gas Mileage & Fuzzy math

I read the posts about people getting 45 to 55 MPG from a Ultra Classic?
I have a 06 Ultra Classic stock with K&amp\\;N filter and SE slip-ons and HD map stage1, M880's with 140 on the rear, 10000 mile service with new plugs, Mobile 1 oils all-around. I'm 265 + 810(bike) = 1075lbs. Best mileage I have ever gotton was 41.6 mpg 1 time. I full-up with about 4.6 or 4.7 gallons (93 Oct) on aveage per tank and only get 36 to 38 mpg no more. I keep my hand off the thottle not big running light to light.
The only riding I have gotton in, in the last few months is from work and back going no more than 50 to 55 mph. Would someone please explain to me how you are getting these types of aveages 45 to 55 MPG.

Thanks
Biff

I can't give you a reasonable explanation other than my scoot IS bone stock.&nbsp\\; No engine, muffler or air cleaner mods. No SERT, or PC III. Right off the showroom floor stock. I get 44 mpg consistently.&nbsp\\;

BTW Biff, you are good to go.

I have an 08 EGC, I check the mileage on every fill and it usually is 40 - 42 mpg. The best I ever had was 45 mpg. That was from one gas station to another on a rural highway trip.

My 07 gets about 48 on the road. It's got the SERT with stage 1 tuning.

If I am easy on the playing I average an honest 44 but mostly around 38 to 40.

I have an 05 EGC, no motor work, no after market pipes/ac etc.............right off the floor. Bought the bike brand new. I have 33k on it now..........and always get 47mpg always, unless something's wrong............had a bad plug once and it suffered down to about 42................soon as I replaced it back to 47. Dunno why some are up there and others not, but it just is!
