AMSOIL
20W-50 in the crank and primary, 75-90 in the transmission
at 1000 miles,&nbsp\\; no problems.&nbsp\\; May cost more but my baby's
worth it!
Ride safe,
Dano

There is so much information that says “Ours Is Better” it’s hard to know what to believe.&nbsp\\; I think a good quality oil and a reasonable change interval is the key to keeping your engine running.&nbsp\\; The oil companies and retailers have tried to convince everyone to change oil at 3000 miles to sell more oil even when the engineers have now raised oil change intervals to 5000 miles and beyond.&nbsp\\; I used Castrol GTX in everything I owned for years, for some reason (???) I have switched to Amsoil.&nbsp\\; It’s costing me more, yet to decide if it is worth it.

I see a lot of folks using Amsoil 20-50 in all three holes and some using a 75-90 in the tranny.

What advantages in using the heavier weight in the tranny?&nbsp\\; Reasons for doing or not doing that?

At 1k miles, I went with Harley Syn 20-50 in all three.
