Question about Tach for Roadking
I have a 1997 FLHR-I and I was told that because it has EFI that I can not put a tach on it, I saw a great factory Roadking tach on EBay and did not bid on it because it may not work. \\; Any help would be great, I know that Ultra's have a tach and they came out in 97 with EFI.

RE: Question about Tach for Roadking
In order for MOST aftermarket tachs to work you need either a pink wire or a pin in the speedometer plug (usually # 3 pin). If not then you are probably stuck with a combination tach. We are trying to get a mini-tach to work on an '04 EFI softail. We even tried using Dyna's tach adapter with out any luck. I am sure that a top end tach would probably work, but the less expensive mini's can give you problems.
