Come on guys. \\; He's "old school" and the ABS is giving him fits. \\; I think it might \\;not working correctly or is out of adjustment (if that can happen). \\; Regardless, I don't know enough about it and just wanted some input. \\; My opinion on this matter really doesn't matter, I'm just trying to help a friend \\;out and \\;wanted some information.  \\;Constructive input appreciated...Isn't that what this forum is for? \\; Thanks for the \\;help.

Here is the deal. \\; When I get on the rear brake, hard but not hard enough to lock up, (and I am down shifting at the same time) the brake pedal will jump with each shift \\;as the ABS starts to kick in. \\; When I get to first gear the brake goes away completely.
I’m not talking about a panic stop this is just a little harder than normal. \\; And I’m not new to bikes nor am I a weekend rider. \\; I’ve been doing this since 1964. \\; I took delivery on my Street Glide on March 23 and now have over 14,000 miles on it.

ABS brakes are a MVSS item, legally he can't alter them in anyway. If he does alter them and gets into an accident he'll get a free pass to a jail. IF they are altered and the bike is inspected he'll get that same free pass.
