Default Need help with break noise

I have an 05 ultra that I had replaced the pads in the spring. I put the lyndal pads on it all the way around and after about 1K, I started to get a noise off the front break when the breaks are not being applied. Touch the front breaks and it's gone let off and it's back. I have cleaned the front&nbsp\\;calipers 2 times and everytime it works for about 100 miles or so and then it's back to the noise. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve

Sounds like maybe a warped rotor. I have the same problem and plan on upgrading to floating rotors as soon as my budget allows. Is the noise constant, or is it just when the rotor hits a certain spot?

Did you bevel the edges before you installed them?

I did not bevel the edges. First I have heard of this, how do you do it? Also the noise stays all the time when the breaks are not on. Do you guy's think I have a bad caliper that's hanging up?

its not the caliper but sounds like the rotor may be out of round. also if the pads have a high copper content they may squeal

What makes it odd to me is when I clean the caliper it's ok for 100 miles or so. If it were the rotor I would think it would not change after I clean the caliper. Am I thinking right?

Why would anyone need to bevel the edges?
There is nothing on Lyndall's site that mentions this as a recommendation or solution.

Could you describe the noise?

The noise is a squeelling noise when the breaks are not applied. Not 100 % of the time but 90% 0f the time when I'm not using the breaks.
Thanks for helping.

When you bevel the edges, basically the front or the edgr when the rotor is traveling into the pad it helps to keep the noise down. If you look at any pad for autos they all come with the pad already beveled. Just take a file and remove the square edge off of them, not much one to three passes is all it takes. Takes about 10 seconds to do the whole pad. I picked this tip up on the "Fix My Hog" DVD's.
