Plan your route, drink lots of water some sunscreen on the nose wouldn't hurt, some&nbsp\\;good tunes, ride safe and enjoy!

480mi on a Street Bob,
&nbsp\\;
Lots of good advice already provided.&nbsp\\; I just returned from a long one with the Mrs.&nbsp\\; It is friggin hot out there (I was a bit farther south) but 90 deg, is 90 deg.&nbsp\\; My 2 cents is to echo the following suggestions:
&nbsp\\;
Sunscreen
Water
10 Min breaks every hour/70 miles
and +1 for the music&nbsp\\; (That Ipod shuffle is the shizzle, clips right on to a belt, not bulky at all, and out of the way.&nbsp\\; best deal out there)
&nbsp\\;
Enjoy

Go Ithaca to Corning onto 17/86. Much better ride than the thruway. Dont forget to bring some BBQ from The Dinosaur for your friends.

The riders backrest is the secret to long days in the saddle, and comfortable rest once off.&nbsp\\; The other stuff too, but a backrest is the best thing you can do for yourself.

I would also suggest long sleeves and gloves.&nbsp\\; Not for sun protection but for wind.&nbsp\\; It's amazing how much wind burn one can get in a long day's ride.
