Default Upgrade Twin Cam or Go New for 08-09

Thought you guys would have some good input and know it is ultimately my decision.&nbsp\\; I have a 05 Ultra, stage 1, vance and hines slip ons and have the whole detach tour pack etc, mp3 road tech so it has two looks. It has 18k miles on it, never had a problem with it and runs great (plus paid for).&nbsp\\; Question I have is it worth going to upgrade the 88 to a 95 with some new cams vs. going after an 08 or 09 and starting over with all the goodies.&nbsp\\; I can probably get it done for just over 1000.&nbsp\\; I assume I'll see the difference with the 95 and will it do just as good as the 96?&nbsp\\; Anyway, I appreciate your input.

A well-built 95 should be stronger than a stock 96, and be able to keep up with most 103's.&nbsp\\;

I had an 05 FLHTC which had 95" w/cams installed by the dealer before I took delivery.&nbsp\\; 2 years later, I had 60k on the bike and decided to trade before trade value was shot from the mileage.&nbsp\\; I got an 07 FLHTCU.&nbsp\\; The 05/95 would eat up my 96".&nbsp\\; I suspect a cam would liven up the 96" (I installed the SE mufflers from the 05 and a K&amp\\;N filter).&nbsp\\; With 18k, I would definately keep the 05 and pump it up.

Haven't seen the 09 seeing as theyre not out yet.
But if I was to do it over again I would go with up-grading my TC 88 to 95 or 103 and go with the Baker 6.&nbsp\\; If done right they will run rings around a 07 08 96ci with NO HEAT issues and trans noise.

The most compelling reason to go to an '08-'09 would be ABS.
If that isn't an issue, I'd keep what I had and build it to 95" or 103"...

The question you got to ask yourself is&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; HOW MUCH POWER DO I WANT ?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; With that answered,&nbsp\\; You can&nbsp\\; put a plan together.&nbsp\\; By leaving&nbsp\\; stock bore and just doing cams and fuel management, you could get somewhere around&nbsp\\; 80 hp and&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; 85 tq.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; It becomes habit forming,&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; More power, More Power,.........

Have an 06 FLHX, did the 95 and andrews gear cams, slipons and PC.&nbsp\\; Very happy with it, most riding is 2 up and it has the power needed.&nbsp\\; Can't say I will never trade, but for now it was the right decision.

I'm asking myself the same question.&nbsp\\; With 65K I think I'm past the sweet spot for trade, so I think I'm in for the upgrades this winter.&nbsp\\; Bakers 6 speed OD, not HD's 1:1 ratio 6 speed, and the 108 kit with SE heads.&nbsp\\; I think there's another 100,000 on this bike, easy...
