Sattelite radio direct connect problem?

RE: Sattelite radio direct connect problem?
look at the DC power cord that came with it. \\; I have a Sirius Starmate, and the cord indicated it was reducing the voltage down to less than 5 volts. \\; I added a power receptacle under the fairing and secured the DC cord to it. \\; think if you go to cyclegadgets.com or other vendors, you might be able to find a cord that has a voltage reducer built in that you can then direct hard wire. \\; If not and your cord does step the voltage down, you'll have to do what I did or something similar using the factory cord.

mine has to sit in the dock also. \\;\\\\\\; the cord i'm refering to is the power cord from the dock to the power source. \\;\\\\\\; check the other end of it, it will usually indicate what power is required and what power is outputed to the dock.
