Default Thinking of trading Softy for RK

I am thinking of trading my beloved custom Heritage for a Road King. To me the RK is the essence of HD and it looks good with bags and 2 up seat. Of cource I would remove the windshield forever and prolly start customizing all over.
I know some former softy owners have done this. Need some feed-back.

I went from a Softail Custom to a Road King Custom after twelve years on the softail. Love the RK but still love the FXSTC. I miss the badazz look of the Softail Custom.&nbsp\\;But a&nbsp\\;RK is hard to beat. The ride and handling are excellent and the 96" and six speed are nice. Funny thing is that I went to the softail from an Ultra and to the Ultra from a Lowrider. They (Harleys) all work for me . &nbsp\\;But I plan on keeping this Road King for a very long time.

Marsh,&nbsp\\; I'm very confident that you would like the Road King,&nbsp\\; There just is no other bike that rides and handles as good IMO as the King.&nbsp\\; The Softy is great but&nbsp\\;trying to compare the two like apples to apples just wont work.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;The King is made for long hauls.&nbsp\\; Comfort and&nbsp\\;style.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;It just wasnt what I was looking for in a bike,&nbsp\\; I just need something a little simpler.&nbsp\\; LOL,&nbsp\\; Boy I sure screwed up If I was trying to make my bike simple!&nbsp\\; LOL.

Marsh - first of all nice ride you have currently.
&nbsp\\;
I just went from a customized Fat Boy to an RKC and I must say I should have done it 2 years ago when I bought the Fat Boy. Love it. I like you prefer to ride without a windshield but its nice to have when you want it. I really like the big bags and the air ride rear end is much better than the softail.
&nbsp\\;
I thought I would be giving up some agility when going to the RKC but totally not the case, I find I can throw my King around just as well as my Fatty.
&nbsp\\;
Good Luck with your decision, I know its a tough one, like I said I just went through it.
