I have had two friends that have had this problem, But I did a check of local dealers here three of them and not one has had to replace one yet, I checked to see if they orded any, an none where orded. I plan on letting mine break also, and see if the MOCO will do a recall ,if this is that bad a problem.&nbsp\\; Doc&nbsp\\; 4000 miles no problems

No issue yet. I'll give them some time to get the replacememnts in and then hit them up on it. If they are really waitting for the units to fail I'll probably buy the parts and save the old one for another route maybe even small claims court, or what ever. Depending on the time, cost, and frustration level.

Ride well,

Jim

Before heading across country this week, I stopped into my local dealer, (Sheldons HD of Auburn, MA).&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; They ordered the part and had it for me, with gasket, in two days no problem.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; It's in the tour pack, "just in case".

I've been thinking about ordering the part just to have with me, but otherwise just wait to see what happens.&nbsp\\; I do have the AAA RV plan plan for towing if I need it. My main concern is not having the bike sitting in a shop for 2 weeks waiting on the part, especially if its a shop a long way from home.

ORIGINAL: dawg

Not to start another 08 fuel filter thread, but...........&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;This is to see how those folks with pre 08 built 2008 touring bikes are thinking.
&nbsp\\;
I tried this poll but it wouldn't work either. I had to manually do the math and I got a 26 percent failure rate. FYI, my dealer is changing mine before it breaks. Waiting on the part as we speak.

I know there have been a couple threads here that had the part number in them, I've been searching from time to time over the last couple days, but can't find it. If someone knows the part number would you please post it again. Thanks, and sorry for being a pain.

Wow, that was quick. Thanks a lot. Think I'll stop by my shop this week and order the canister, then decide whether or not I want to try replace it myself. At least I'll have the part.&nbsp\\;
