Very old question? 2 into 1 or true duels on baggers?
Here is the catch. I like the look of true duels on my bagger (my option) but I do not want to lose any power.
Are there true duels (who are the manufactures) out there that increase power and/or torque?

Depends on who you talk to. I chatted with V&H tech support yesterday about adding the true duals to my Oval slip-ons; they're position is that there will a net increase of low-end torque. Others will disagree. (OK, no doubt they'd like to sell the pipes....) I'll most likely get some anyway.

My tuner has had excellent results with these pipes and highly recommends them over any other true dual system. They have a strong deep sound and I am not sacrificing performance. Progressive triple stepped headers, NO clamp/gaps, all solid welded double wall construction, removeable baffles, chrome billet tips and no tranny/starter brackets for a simple install. Precise tuning makes all the difference! Pulls hard from idle to WFO. Very satisfied here! The great exhaust/tuning debate will continue to rage on forever and that's cool!

If you like the perfomance of the 2-1 but the look's of dual you may want to consider a 2-1 with a fakie/falsie pipe on the left side. I know that the Thunderheader has this as an option but I am not sure who else has it. Maybe somthing for you to consider.

You should go with what you like best. On a stock 88 the difference between a 2 into 1 or a true dual will not be enough to really make any significant difference. I like the look and sound of the 2 into 1 on my street glide, I had true duals on my road king.

You can get a D&D Fatcat with a false left side pipe as well. I think they call it a Ghost Pipe.
Personally I don't see the point of a fake left side pipe. I would think the performance gains (on a basically stock bike) you get from going to the 2-1 would be negated by a heavy hunk of useless metal hanging off the left side of your bike. If you don't like the look of a 2-1, just go with the duals.
