Ultra is the way to go!&nbsp\\; I recently took a trip for the first time on mine and the CB allowd us to keep in contact with the chase vehicle.&nbsp\\; The intercom allowed talking with the CB's effortlessly as well as communicating between my wife and I. Cruise control too. There is also a local NOAA(I think its called)&nbsp\\;weather channel.&nbsp\\; Total long distance comfort for both rider and passenger. With the fairng and the lowers I never got wet either.&nbsp\\; we rode in the rain for 80+ miles and I only got wet when we stopped.

Quite frankly I never really understood the Classic (no cruise control give me a break) is it a touring bike or is it not? For a couple of bucks you could go out&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; buy a couple of tools take off the product you do not want to make it a Classic and then when it is time to sell you get your $2000.00 back on trade in value IMHO.

either way the Touring models are just cool...I have not met a women yet that is not more than willing to give that big ol comfy seat a try.
My Classic came with cruise, security, and ABS. That said, I bought che Classic because they didn't have an Ultra with ABS. I have since made my Classic an Ultra.

Thansk to redhwk44 for adding all the extra spaces or carriage returns that screwed up the page formatting.

Buy the ULTRA if you ride long trips 2-up.&nbsp\\; We got the street glide last year and the wife already wants the ultra and so do I.&nbsp\\; The S/G is nice too, she did some 400 mile days on with me and loved it but now we wish we had all the bells and whistles.&nbsp\\; What sucks is I am in too deep on the S/G to trade up without taking it up the _ss, and it is way more expensive to add stuff.&nbsp\\; Wish we had gone with the Ultra.

No brainer. Go with the Ultra. Most people I know that have a classic end up putting on most of the items they could have had with the Ultra anyway. In the end they still have a classic not an Ultra. Spend the bucks now. You won't be sorry.

add up how much more for a trunk-w/ luggage, a speaker set up w/ volume control for the passenger-a cb-a intercom sys installed -=ultra
&nbsp\\;
since you have the choice, don't pinch the quarter in the beginning to add a dollar later.
&nbsp\\;
go to the store and bring back dinner , swing by costo carry back some goodies,carry that extra helmet/jacket/her purse,etc. it's better to have and not need , than to need and not have.
i went to frys and bought a monitor. sat it on the rear seat strapped it in and didn't have to worry about it falling off. and still had room for other stuff.
&nbsp\\;
just my opion.

If you find the right dealer, you might get the Ultra for the price of a classic. I did, depends on how much inventory they have on hand. Good luck

Better to have the goodies than wish you had them later. The Ultra is priced so the extras are less costly than if you wanted to add them later.
&nbsp\\;
I don't know why anyone would want the Classic version, unless its a matter of money.

You guys are really pissing me off......[:@]&nbsp\\;LOL....&nbsp\\; I just ordered a Street Glide for delivery next year(military deployed).&nbsp\\; I love the lines and the cleanliness of the SG.&nbsp\\; Was planning on adding a tour pack later and maybe more speakers.&nbsp\\; Now you've got me second guessing myself.&nbsp\\; But the only thing keeping me leaning to the SG is for the extra money I'm saving up front I plan on doing a 103" stage II Kit and true duals.&nbsp\\; The bike after all is for me First, and the misses second.
