I've got a Classic since I bought it used, but by the time I finish adding my upgrades I'll have an Ultra, (the wife now wants an intercom and I added cruise this past Winter).&nbsp\\; I'd recommend you get the Ultra and be done with it.&nbsp\\; Yeah, you can make a Classic an Ultra, but in your case, i.e. buying new, why bother?&nbsp\\; Getting all those mods will cut into your ridin' time!&nbsp\\;

Sorry to bud in guys I am on a RKC. I have a question for you Ultra owners. Why in the world would you ever want an intercom? Seriously! I know my wife and she would automatically think of at as a phone and since she wouldn't be able to call all her friends she would jabber away in my ear endlessly. As far as my wife knows they haven't invented an intercom for bikes yet and if I have anything to do about they never will.

This is an easy one. The biggest and baddest, IS without question an ULTRA.
Of course I am bias'd when I say this. Buy whichever one you want.

Above all, RIDE SAFE !!! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I just picked up My 08 Classic and it has ABS Brakes, Cruise, Security System, Driver Backrest, Leather Windshield Pouch and Chrome Luggage Rack added already. I figured I can add the rear speakers later if I need them. I know these features come with the Ultra but this one was ordered with the extras that is why I chose this Bike. I got mine for $19,000.00

I went with the Ultra...voice activated intercom is nice, especially on long rides.

&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; If you want to add the Soft Lower Covers for Winter Riding on the Classic, Harley has them - Part #58525-95A $59.95, Compare them to the Ultra Lower Hard Covers for $599.00. You can take them off and on Easier. I will be looking to get a set for My Classic.

CLASSIC is a better value - you don't get all the crap you don't want. And then you can set up to remove the tourpak. I have this setup and it is GREAT. I ride most of the time without the tourpack and it is a LOT easier - a lot less top heavy. Then, if I have errands to run or want to take a rider- 45 seconds to put the tourpack on.

I put on the fairing mirrors, which give you BETTER rear visibility than the stock mirrors, and when you pull the tourpack, it looks like a streetglide. I am going to get a lower profile seat too. Not giving up my windsheild though.

BTW - you can get 1 year old used ones CHEAP compared to the Ultras.

My Electraglide Classic came with the ABS and Cruise.&nbsp\\; Beyond those options, there is nothing on the Ultra that I'd even want. It's a great bike and a great value too.

4600 trouble free miles on my 08 ABS Ultra. Cheaper to take things off, than to try and add them on later. Good luck with your new bike!
