Metz or Avon (personal pref is Metz) \\;- both are good performers in the rain, sticky when dry and you'll get reasonable mileage. \\; Burnouts reduce longevity!
 \\;There is no better tire for street riding for your HD than DUNLAP.
It maybe cool to do the anit HD thing and put something else on it but that does not change that facts.
Dunlap provides the best blend of traction and wear \\; for your HD.
Got news fer ya, Smitty....it ain't 'bout "anti" anything - because the Michelin is a RECOMMENDED tire by HD. It's about tread life. Now, it may jest be that the 'Lop is gonna be the best on mileage - that remains ta be seen. Ah'll be tryin' the Metz's ta see how they do, an' if they don't provide better results, then ah'll be back on the 'Lops in a heartbeat.
Avon! You may lose tread life but will love the traction in the twisties! I have ran Metz 880's and the last time in the rain was like I was riding a roller skate on a ice rink! The Avon Venoms have been awesome so far!
After the horror stories about the tread peeling off the Metzlers, I will stick with the Dunlops. I know I am getting 12K from the rear (third rear now) and at least 15 K on the front (on second).
Russl, Regarding peeling tread blocks on METZ, read the full threads, it seems guys were mostly running incorrectly load rated tires(wrong tire) \\;or running wrong pressures due to poor/bad info, for their rides. \\; I've got no stake in the METZ, just clarity... \\; \\;
Not trying to hijack the thread. i was reading in American Iron that Pirreli has come out this a performance tire for Bags. has anyone tried these either?
