If you were that blown away with the syn 3 in the trans, you would pee your pants with excitement if you tried a quality gear lube like redline or spectro.

I use full synthetic 80/140 in my trans over the others, no clunking, neutral is easy to find, and seems to make the bike shift better. &nbsp\\;

The CVOs come with the Synth stuff. No complaints either. Coming up on the 1k change.&nbsp\\;What others to try for smoothness and less trans noise ...&nbsp\\;Others besides Redline, Amsoil, Lucas ??? FYIW

I guess if I could find neutral a little easer I wouldn’t have a blood pressure problem. “Oh” the bike, never mind.

Actually, I think mine got HARDER to find neutral after I switched to syn3. Slips right on past, going up or down. The IDS made it even worse. (go figure)

I just retrieved my Road King from 1K service at the dealer.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I had them put Harley Syn 3 oil in al three holes.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I read the threads about the different oils, and I know Syn 3 is not real popular........... the one thing I noticed is how much eaiser it shifts now.
If any of the discussions I've read have any credibility, Syn3's not a gear oil, it's a lighter weight oil, fine for crankcases and primaries.&nbsp\\; Also, it's not full synthetic.

I don't dispute your claim that neutral's easier to find\\; it's annoying on mine to find it with gear oil in there.&nbsp\\; But, annoyance is easier for me to stomach than early transmission wear/failure, assuming that people know what they're talking about, and gear oil is what needs to go in there.

Who really knows, as in, knows AUTHORITATIVELY, as opposed to street talk?&nbsp\\; I don't.&nbsp\\; I toss the HD marketing hype out the window, since that's what I think it is about Syn3.&nbsp\\; But, the other stuff?&nbsp\\; Who knows (AND CAN PROVE IT)?
