I'm looking to find out what the average life span is for a front and rear tire on an Ultra. I understand that riding habits differ but, all I'm looking for is a cross section of what people get. I have an '06 with just under 5,000 miles (3,500 in the last 4 months) and am wondering what I should expect. Thanks to all that respond in&nbsp\\;advance.&nbsp\\;

 

The original rear tire on my SG lasted 10k, and the second was matching that mileage before I inherited a nail in the sidewall and had to replace it at 16k. The third tire, a Dunlop Elite 3 MU90-16, has 4k and is wearing much better. FWIW, based on present wear I'm expecting 15-16k for this tire, which is an impressive improvement. Performance is the equal of the D402 or better, even in wet, so I see no downside to it.

The original D402 front now has 20k and has about 40% of its tread remaining. I've historically gotten 30-35k on front D402's, but when this one wears out I'm replacing it with an Elite 3 to match the rear.

 

I generally get 10-12K from a set of 402's.

 

11k so far on rear 402 should get 15 easy and maybe 20 on front

 

on the 402 i go about 12000 but im ALWAYS 2 UP

 

11k to 13k on the rear.&nbsp\\; Changed the front at 26k just because I also put on a new rear.

 

my second Ultra I have replaced rear every 10,000 front every third change on rear

 

I ride all 1 up. Got 7500 out of my stocker on my SG. I think the roads in your particular area can play a role in tire ware. Non the less I was disappointed in the stock back tire. Putting on a Metz me880 this time.

 

First 2 rear D-402 gave me 9,000 &amp\\; 9,500 and I now have 20K on the original front with several thousand miles left.&nbsp\\; Plan to go to E-3's or Michelin Commanders next time though.

 

My 06 Ultra,12 &amp\\; 11 on rear &amp\\; 24 on front. Who knows how long. I've been riding mostly flat roads of southern Indiana. Lately I've been riding the hills of East Tennessee, namely the Great Smokie Mountains.&nbsp\\; The side walls will be worn off before the center tread is gone, then I'll be home and wear the centers out.&nbsp\\; Maybe I'll get double the mileage out of this set&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\; I know, wishful thinking. &nbsp\\;
