So I found out today I have a cracked Y header pipe.&nbsp\\; I have no idea how long its been cracked but I would guess not more than a month.&nbsp\\; So the question is how low can I run with a crack problem????&nbsp\\; 2nd question I don't plan on doing any engine mods to the 88in, who make the best true duel exhaust with out sacrificing performance?

Might be a good time to look at the Fulsac dual conversion kit.

 

This used to be a very common problem. Ive been running the Rineharts for three years now and love them. There are lots to choose from though.

 

Fulsac works for me.

 

Ive changed many of these over the years.. u can&nbsp\\; run a&nbsp\\; while..&nbsp\\; but&nbsp\\; as the motor shakes&nbsp\\; the crack&nbsp\\; will run&nbsp\\; its&nbsp\\; way.. and continue to spread...&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; you must&nbsp\\; eventually correct this&nbsp\\; and the "new" &nbsp\\;factory&nbsp\\; hd pipe&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; will also&nbsp\\; split&nbsp\\; eventually.&nbsp\\; just&nbsp\\; get it over&nbsp\\; with and get&nbsp\\; true duals&nbsp\\; now.&nbsp\\;

Anything beats having to deal with the y pipe setup.&nbsp\\; Mine cracked and I replaced it with Rinehart TD's.&nbsp\\; Been smiling ever since.

 

I'd say that you can run it until&nbsp\\; you can't take the heat.

 

Had the same problem after I bought my bike.&nbsp\\; One of the left exhaust clamps was loose and the excess vibration caused the crack.&nbsp\\; Was your bike popping on decel?&nbsp\\; Mine was and thats how I found the problem...and it was hotter than hell too!

I took it apart and had a local welder put a nice large bead on it...haven't had any problems since.
