GT designs I must say , you put a lot of thought into your rides stereo set up and I must say, I really dig it. I also have that ida-x100 sittin in a box next to me and on plannin on taking out my alpine dvd unit and replacing it with that. (My Alpine DVD unit is fimally taking a dump on me.) This should be in shortly as I have a few other issues I need to address in time for the ride to Hollister comin up in a few weeks. I also like your tweet setup and the amp u chose. Keep us up to date!!!!!

i am actually replacing my head unit with the JVC 3.5" in dash... the flip outs usually dont fair too well due to all the vibration. feel free to ask any question you want, I will help as best i can...
I have some pretty cool ideas, running through my head and I think i can pull most of them off...

What brand are the tweeters and what do you think it would take to hook some to the factory system? There were some other posts on here about adding tweeters, but I'm not that familiar with the whole ohms thing.thnx

as far as hooking them up to factory units, i honestly recommend either using a decent coaxial, or adding a amp.. if space is a problem, as earlier stated, the arc mini amps seem to be nice, and you could add a set of components up front... be careful with the brand name, as all tweeters will not easily flush, without modification... when i get the rest of my parts back from the painter, i will be molding my tweeters into the dash, even though they look good now (i modified the tweeter housing to fit totally flush)

RE: 2008 Harley Streetgliide Sound System Project
here are a few picts of another bike i did last year, i built the box (a much easier build out of mdf) and put a 6.5" jl sub I had sitting around in it. i ported the box through towards the wheel and it sounded ok... but he kept blowing the sub (due to abuse), i got tired of replacing it... i wanted the box back, but since the guy owed me money, he didnt come back to let me fix it, lets just say he is no longer what i consider a friend (i tried to charge him what i lost out of pocket to do the build and he shorted me several hundred dollars)... then to make matters worse, he traded my box to a stereo shop, so they could drill holes for some 6x9s which anyone could do... that shop tried to copy my design...
I dont mind if people try to copy what I do, it just pissed me off that a friend did me wrong...
anyhow, here are a few picts of that, i dont know what happened to the rest of the picts of the box... the sub sat inside, facing up toward the lid and was sealed in with the lid closed, the port was as long as i could do it about 6", which isnt long enough, but did the job decently, i am going to try a similar setuo using a thin series kicker sub...

the paint looks a little dull., but thats from all my finger prints... still have to color sand and buff, but i dont want to do that until i put everything on and run for a few weeks, to see if i want to change anything... i will seal everything off, once i get the part on the bike and figure out what needs to be seal, for better sound quality...
still waiting on my extended bags, wide fender and tourpack, but should have that back next week...
