Default Sirius Satellite/Power

I have&nbsp\\; heard different answers and thought I would put the question out to the forum.&nbsp\\; I just mounted a Sirius Satellite Radio on my 08 Ultra.&nbsp\\; I utilized the cigarertte lighter as the powersource.&nbsp\\; My question is do I need to pull the power source when garaged so it doesn't drain the battery?&nbsp\\; I have been told by the dealer not to use the cigarette lighter as a power source and visited another dealer and he said to use the lighter.&nbsp\\; I don't want to get caught with a dead battery.&nbsp\\; Any answers would be helpful.

As long as your plugged in that plug is running hot. If your unit is off its not pulling any power, right? I leave mine plugged in in my truck, its been 2 years but that is a designated power plug. Maybe they are made for more heavy duty applications than a cig. lighter? I am curious myself.

I haven't unplugged mine from the cigarrette lighter for over 3 years, and I haven't had any battery issues on my FLHT.

Winston I purchased a mount kit from Sirius.&nbsp\\; Go to their website and key in motorcycle in the search and it will come up.&nbsp\\; I mounted it to the handlebar.&nbsp\\; It took me about 5 minutes.&nbsp\\;

I have my Zumo plugged into the cigarette lighter on my Ultra.&nbsp\\; I leave&nbsp\\;the plug&nbsp\\;alone - when you turn off power to the bike, the Zumo actually says it lost plug power and should&nbsp\\;it continue on battery?"...&nbsp\\; So, the cig. lighter is not providing power when the bike is completely off...

I spliced mine into the cig power source under the fairing. No problems yet and it's been two years.
