The MOCO now makes a heel peg that pivots back to give you more foot room when out on the highway.

I keep the heel shifter on so that my boot does not come into contact with the primary cover.

&nbsp\\; Just put an idea out there is all......
and YES, the first thing I checked was to see if the hardware
fastening the toe shifter was tight.&nbsp\\; I was hoping it was loose and I could
tighten it to get on the road again....but the bolt was tight, the
'teeth' in the toe shifter were stripped.
&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I understand some are more comfortable with just a toe shift......
but I would have been stuck in the the Great Smokey Mtns if not for my
heal shift lever.
&nbsp\\; I am not preaching.......just giving a heads up.
&nbsp\\; I also know how limited the bags are for spares....I will attach my extra shift to
the frame with wire ties if need be!&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; LOL

Thats a good idea. I just have a toe shift, but I may try to get a hold of the heal part myself. I had a 78 flh and I did lose the shifter(didn't crank the bolt down tight enuff) bad news it was one piece - good news i was able to put it back on and get it home. U just never know!! &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

toe shifter only here.I agree its good idea to cary heel piece as spare.Ive shifter for 200 miles using the lever without the peg.Also I intalled a electric shifter on my rkc the ultimate lazy mans shifter and makes long trips even more laid back
&nbsp\\;
Electric Shifter?!!!!&nbsp\\; Where does one get it?&nbsp\\; What does it cost?&nbsp\\; How hard is it to install?&nbsp\\; I'm all about being lazy!!
