I bought a cheap ($20) powered one off Crutchfield, hid it inside my fairing, works like a champ!

Does it matter if you install it in your front or rear fairing? Meaning will their be a reception diffrence?

I just cut mine to a height I liked and put a black rubber tip on and called it good. It still gets great reception and cost was zero!

Black rubber one from Auto Zone here too.&nbsp\\; Reception is fine and it bends out of the way when I put luggage on the back for trips.

Thanks for that link Doc... couldn't find it. That's what I based my decision on to get the $20 Crutchfield one. Works nearly as good as the long whip.

I tried the antennae off my 2005 GMC pickup and it fit my 2007 FLHX perfectly.. Its Black in color, about 31" in height.Reception is&nbsp\\;as good.
It has a wire that spirals on the outside of it for a different look.
It threads right on but I used a dab of blue loc-tite to be safe since it does not have allen screw like the harley OEM.
It worked so I went and bought a new one.
Price $33.51 which is list price.
Part number&nbsp\\; 15087886&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&n bsp\\;&nbsp\\; Description Antenna A045E
