I went from an 02 Dyna with a quick detach windshield to the Ultra and thought that would be an issue, but it never was. Probably don't have as good a view of the front tire, but I never look down that close anyway.
You think a batwing blocks your view. Try a sharknose fairing. I agree a non issue. Well worth it for the radio, Tach ect. Go rent a ultra or streetglide for a day, | bet you'll switch.
No blockage at all. you can see over it completly and around it completly. The bat wing is sweet. I dont even look at touring bikes with out 1 any more. They look naked.
Right on MyFirstHD, you should be looking out, not down. On an UC if you look down you're going down. You have plenty of vision out, no obstruction at all..
About 2 months ago I put a batwing on my RK. \\; My findings are this. \\; With the windshield on the RK the top windshield line was right at my vision line. \\; Sometimes, usually at night, this distorted my perception, especially in curves. \\; I am 5'10" and have a 6" windshield on the batwing. \\; I see clearly over the windhield, no more looking through the shield, yet get no wind in the face. \\; An additional perc is I found I get a slight improvement in my gas mileage......and the tunes rock.
The only thing I can't see is my front tire and fender. Not an issue. You just need to know where to stop, like anything else you ride or drive, but to each his own.
I forget it is even there when cruzing.....
\\; until that humongous bug wacks its and wakes me up.
\\; never thought i would like it but now i ask will not have one without it.
\\; rain, bugs, rocks, road junk, etc you get the idea
