Wild One 518s on a Road Glide . . . ANYONE?
I have some WO518s I want to try on my Road Glide and I was wondering if anyone else has tried them. These ARE NOT the 517s which are for the RG. The 518s are usually used on Road Kings.
I know that the end rise is 3.5 shorter and they are a bit wider than the 517s.
I got the bars and braided cables today for only $40 so this is not costing me much except for the time to change them.
I am currently running WG bars but I am not happy with the wrist angle.
ANYONE have 518s on a Roady ? ? ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Steve

One of the guys in my club has them on his Road Glide....he likes them very much and they narrowly fit between the fairing but they work. They don't have \\\\\\\\\\\\\\;as much "pull back" as the 517's.

I have 518's on my RG. \\; They have significantly more pullback than stock bars. \\; If this picture attached, you can see that the grips are now well behind the filler door on the console.  \\; As you said, are lower and wider than 517's. \\; I like the pullback, but I would prefer if they weren't as wide as they are. \\; Much more comfortable than stock bars, but not perfect

Hey Steve. I had the 518's on my old Road King. I didn't like the wrist angle, seemed like riding a wheel barrow. It's easy enough to change them out though. I would just set them in the risers before you go through the hassle of taking the wiring apart. If it feels good enough, go for it. If it feels like your going to have to get used to it, I wouldn't go any farther.

Just my opinion.
