how much grease in steering bearings?
06 ultra, iv'e already pumped in 4 oz (small tube 3 oz) i got alittle to ooze out of the top bearing but nothing out the bottom yet. on my 02 rk it only took about 3 oz total. just wondering how much grease everyone else is having to put in their new bikes? thanks

If yours works like my '05 Ultra your steering bearing will now puke grease out the bottom everytime you ride. I've learned not to grease the bearing until you see greese oozing out, but instead to give it a couple shots then quit. I do grease the steering bearing at each oil change. YMMV

Too add to what Apeking said--the manual says to put the bike on a stand or lift to get the front wheel off the ground.Grab the left handlebar and pull the front end all the way to the left .If it is properly lubricated it will swing all the way to the right and back to the middle by itself. OD

the service manual says (lubrication) to inject grease until it exudes from top and bottom of stearing head. my 06 service manual says when (checking) for proper stearing head tightness turn to the left fork stop then let go, the wheel should swing to the right,left, then right and stop. there is a illustration in the service manual
