I can not stress the importance enough of NOT removing your ambers. When you need to be seen in rain,fog, or just pulled over. Turn on your emergency flashers. It was my first train of thought "get more red back there" WRONG! Ever watch bikes that have changed the ambers for reds...can't see em worth a darn. If you don't like the looks of the ambers you can put on smoke lens's and they still have the amber visability. The group I ride with know from some real life experiences in bad weather. We would never remove the ambers.

I think in most states its illegal to run amber running lights on the rear, that's why I would never use my rear turn signals as running lights, I want the amber turn signals (and emergency flashers). I'll add other lights to get more rear end lighting, but would never sacrifice my amber turn signals, but then I don't like red rear turn signals on cars either, to me it just makes them harder to see.

Beast and Windup08 have very good points. \\; hafta admit though...I kept the ambers just to be different. \\; But now I have some legitimate reasons. \\; Also, many cars have ambers in back. \\; Anyhow, I've never been hassled, and I wouldn't expect to be bothered for trying to be MORE visible to cagers. \\;

I put a Red LED centered below the tourpak bolted onto the bottom center bolt with a furnished bracket. spliced into the brake light and grounded to frame. \\; $65. and some change. \\; Very bright. \\; Programable as the law allow. \\; I have it on steady Bright Red. \\; available at the following link. \\; http://www.swps.com/whelen-lin3-swps.html
 \\;
I also added a Kisson modulator to the brake light. \\; I plan on adding more LED heads. \\;

Save the money and install the Harley kit yourself ($54.00). \\; Remove the seat and it is plug &\\; play. \\; In my state they require the ambers to be change to red. \\; However, I kept the ambers so I can be better seen. \\; Screw the ticket, I would rather be "illuminated"! \\;
