Anyone ever use aviation fuel in their Harley?
A friend of mine just told me that he has about 200 gallons of avgas a month that he has to give away because he cannot put it back in the airplanes. He said that before he can put it back in he is required to do all kinds of things that make it too costly to reuse it. If he disposes of it, that would be too costly as well. He said he thinks it would run great in my bike. Anybody have any experience with this? T.

My T150 Triumph Trident requires 106 octane, so aviation fuel is often used, blended with 93 pump gas. It really makes it purr.

However, it would be unnecessary to run that high of octane in a modern motorcycle of any make, and the lead would be hell on catalytic converters (if your bike has them).

100LL has quite a bit of lead in it. Besides being free gas another plus will be your bike will run cooler, much cooler than that crap with 10% ethanol mix in it. The rub will be that the lead will build carbon deposits on your plugs. If you have a catalytic converter as mentioned before it will ruin it too. I would run it if given to me without hesitation.

I don't know what the chemistry of it is but I used to run race gas all the time. It seemed to run better about half and half with 93 oct. \\; Insides of the pipes would get almost white.Thought it was ridiculous at $3.14 a gallon. Ha
