Best MOD you'll ever do and still stay stock.&nbsp\\; Get the XIED's from night rider even though steve had mentioned that the stock air filter and pipes will do but I installed a K&amp\\;N and pipes anyway.&nbsp\\; Oh yeah you don't even need to visit the dealer to install them.

 

This will take care of your heat problem, for you as well as your daughter and keep your scoot stock looking as well.

Among some of the other recommendations suggested, switch to synthetic motor oil if you haven't already done so. This alone lowered my oil temperatures by 20-30 degrees F on average.

 

I went with Vance and Hines slip-on mufflers, SE A/C and the SERT, but still put RJs heat shields on. Since I still have the stock header pipes it was still getting kind of warm especially on my right leg. If you want to make the engine last as long as possible you need to do something to get it running a little richer and none of the downloads from HD will do that. It sounds like the night rider stuff works and would be the least expensive, but I would still get RJs shields.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of SAFETY issues that HD left unaddressed.&nbsp\\;

 

Do yourself and your new bike a big favor and Do it right.
True Duals, Air Cleaner, some type of fuel management and synthetic oil. Dont waste your money on the download, you will still be running lean. You need to get it running richer.

 

Fuel management is the key.&nbsp\\; Get that engine some fuel.&nbsp\\; You can do pipes and A/C or not, but you gotta have more fuel.
