I have a seat with a gelpad made in it.I can take it or leave it.We use it on long trips because it's wider and has more cushion and my wife loves it.I agree with with wldbill and prefer the stock seat.

I've always stuck with the stock seat also. Read about the solutions in seats, but too cheap to spend the money. A little stretching on fill-ups works for me, and I squirm around enough to ease the occasional ache! Thought having a fatter *** would help, but scientific study says "no"!

try this. i peeled the cover of my mustang solo back and trimmed about 3/4 " of the padding off. then i bought a temperpedic pillow at wally world for about 20$. made a template from the seat and cut out the pillow about 1" thick. set on top reattched cover and viola!! nasa style seating!

ORIGINAL: HOGinit

The Gel Pads were worthless IMO and for me.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I do have a Pro Pad insert which is a polymer insert in my saddle cut into the foam and under the upolstery that works very well.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; It is always there and very comfortable.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I think the only way to go is with a custom built seat.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I spent two days at the factory and am extremely happy with my seat as is my wife.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; We have no problem with 500-750 mile days a 1000 mile day would be a walk in the park.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Although there are those that do it on stock seats I am not one of them.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I would not buy a seat off the self ie Corbin or Diamond etc.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; As far as I am concerned the only way to do it is to go to the factory and have them build one for you.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I have done this with Corbin and been extremely happy.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I just did it on my 08 with Advanced Seating Designs in Kilgore TX and am very happy with it as well.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; See picture below.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;
Do you have the contact infor for Advanced Seating Designs? I'm in the DFW area so it would make for a nice ride down and good test ride back. Do you mind giving me an idea of what you paid for the custom work?

I tour the month of July and frequently do 500 mile days.&nbsp\\; I have a sheepskin with gel pad, (Butt Buffer) and it sits in the garage.&nbsp\\; Don't need anything after changing to a Mustang saddle.
