Fuel Injector cleaner - what and how often???
What do you guys use for fuel injector cleaners and how often do you add it??? Is it needed??? I have a stock EFI 05 Ultra with ~ 5000 miles - no cleaner used yet.
My cage was running like crap and a guy at Autozone today sold me on a $7.00 bottle of STP "Jet Fuel" injector cleaner - seemed real pricey but this dude said it was #1.
Man 'o man this stuff really works!!!!! It was like a complete tune up in a can. Engine purrs like a kitten now versus bucking like a bull the last few days.
Curious as to what people use in their two wheelers???? Rough idling seems common in Harleys. Does the MOCO make an EFI cleaner??? Any good???
Maybe I'll just dump this "jet fuel" in my next fillup unless there are some horror stories or better products out there.
THANKS.

I have used successfully good old cheap Sea Foam every once and awhile, it works good to clean out the carbon deposits and help against detonation. In extreme cases you can install a vacuum hose from engine after warmed up and running and suck some sea foam through engine when running to blast out the carbon deposits. Rev the engine to about 2000 RPM when doing this. If engine stalls it is okay, let it sit and soak for awhile and restart. The soaking will loosen carbon deposits. In extreme cases you might end up needing to replce spark plugs.
