Default No way to change handlebars on '08 TBW???

Have a friend who is looking at buying an 08 Ultra, but has been told by several salesmen that you cannot raise the handlebars on these bikes due to the tbw. He has a bad neck, and needs apes to reduce the strain on longer rides. Is this true? Doesn't seem like Harley would do this since so many change out the bars....

That is not true the dealershio that I work at has put many apes on 08 touring bikes. Drag specialties has a few bars that have the notches for the fly by wire system. that only thing is that you will have to get an extension for the wiring that is run internally is the bars. Of course you are going to need a new brake line and clutch cable but that is a no brainer.

Well it didn't ring true with us either, but the dealerships in both Temple, Texas, and our local one in Lexington both told us it was a no go due to the tbw. I guess we should probably have been asking the service dept rather than the salesmen, but since he was trying to buy one, that's who we were talking to..

Check out Bagger Nation by Paul Yaffe, he has 2 different styles of Apes for '08 Baggers. One as a 13" set and another style is 12".
Just do a web search for Bagger Nation.
