RE: Idle speed steady climbing at 4k RPM. any ideas?
It is an electrical problem, it is throwing an Idle control code. \\; Like Shovel head bob said in the electrical thread, probably a Map sensor, IAC or temp sensor. \\; Just dont know if it is OK for mwe to remap with the SERT to try to fix it. \\; Of course if one of the sensors is bad, it will have to be replaced.

I've got an 07 FLHX that had the same issue last summer, high idle and P0505 (I think). \\; Turned out to be the idle stop screw on the throttle body. \\; I have 2 differnt friends have the same issue.

I had the same problems on my 07 coming back from Sturgis last year with my idle screw backing in It is loctited in yet it still started to slowly walk in holding the throttle blade slightly open It does not take much to get it up to 4000rpm.
this is a quote from anopther member in the electrical Forum. and I found where you \\; two where talking about and that was it. it had backed out. thanks for the help. Now I have to find out why it is throwing the idle code. Unless it was idling so high and it could not let itself go to nornmal idle. \\; But thanks for all the replys, I have to get it lock tighted down. \\; and again thanks for the help.

I had a similar issue with my 06 Road King.  \\;I checked for TC and didn’t get any.  \\;I check for leaks in the intakes to the jugs and didn’t find any.  \\;What I did find was that I had some water in the connection between my PCIII commander and the ECM.  \\;It was due to high pressure washing since I had to wash off a lot of mud from the last run.  \\;I blew out the connections, applied plenty of diode grease and put it back together. \\; Purring like a lion again. \\; Hope this helps.

The ( for the lack of a better term) throttle cam stop screw. what the cam stop rest against at idle. was backing out and holding the throttle open at idle. as it got further out, the more loose it became which accelerated the problem. \\; so anytime the cam stop was not against the screw it was vibrating further out.  \\; Hope that makes sense. \\; I turned it back in and loc-tited it with the blue loc-tite.  \\;
