Just curious, have the ABS brakes helped you avoid any accidents or crashes? What do you think of the HD ABS brakes?

 

They are great, and yes they have helped me avoid locking up the wheels on a slick street. They should be standard equipment. I would not have a bike without them.&nbsp\\;

 

To be honest, I really don't notice the difference. Although, I really haven't had to use them but once. I made a quick stop in a construction zone where there was some gravel on the ground....seemed to really help out there.

 

If I had to take a bike with ABS,that would be the first thing I take off.Too me they absolutely SUCK.

 

My '08 Street Glide has ABS and they are awesome.&nbsp\\; It's amazing how I hear all the nay sayers trash them...yet no one can give you one valid reason why ABS sucks!&nbsp\\; Since the advent of ABS&nbsp\\;it has been one of the single most items place on a vehicle...whether plan, car now bike.&nbsp\\; I hear the arguments of hating leaving control to an ecm...not being able to lie your bike down to keep from hitting a cager head on...to not being able to stop in gravel...ALL THESE COMPLAINTS ARE INVALID.&nbsp\\; Now...let me clarify...ABS is no replacement for situational awareness and being alert...but when the fecal matter hit's the rotating oscillator...they come in handy!

I know I'll get flamed from all you diehard "what I know it right guys"...but you can't beat the facts and stats...ABS saves lives.&nbsp\\; Especially in this day and age where more people will be on two wheels with little to no experience!&nbsp\\;

this is a no brainer, they work great, have saved me from locking the rear wheel on a couple of occasions, I also agree with the previos poster, I bet that the person who says they would remove them has never even tried them on a bike....

 

Don't even know ABS is there, as the Brembo brakes are fantastic. I haven't locked up the rear wheel yet so the ABS is working.
Yes, I would get ABS again.

8,000 miles on my 08 EG with ABS.&nbsp\\; I had one emergency stop to date. It was on dry payment and ABS did not activate.

The standard brakes on these bike are good.

I bought this bike for the ABS brakes and would do it again.&nbsp\\; I wanted the extra safety margin on slick roads that ABS should provide.

I have 7500 miles on my ABS bike and will never buy another bike without ABS, unless it wasn't available on the bike. You don't know it's there until you need it. I used it once on wet pavement to try it and it worked as advertised.

The uninformed (polite way to say ignorant) that say "ABS sucks" have no idea what they're talking about.
