This is really hard to believe. How do you miss seeing&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;a gas cap on a harley tank....you better sober up
On an FL model the gas cap is under the key-operated door.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Its really easy to miss when you are done fueling you just close the door and go.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; And it does not make a splashy mess, but you can smell gas fumes.
&nbsp\\;
I can honestly say that I never had that problem on my FL or any of my bikes for that matter.

no, you mean on an FLH model other than the road king ( but including&nbsp\\;the roadglide) it has a door. That said, I see in his profile he&nbsp\\;has an 08 EG....whatever

I don't get it? I have never lost a gas cap in 40+ years of riding.....
&nbsp\\;
Yup, same here. Never lost one on the bike or a car. But there's always a first time...

I guess someone should go add a gas cap to the saddlebag essentials thread in the General section.

I ride a Ultra Classic which has a door over the gas cap. No gas ever spilt out with the door shut. However, I was getting near to the Tail of The Dragon and I sure wanted a gas cap. I have switched from placing the gas cap from "on the pump" to "on the seat".

I would have stopped at the next gas station. They are bound to have one if all of the local dealer were out! lol

&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I'd carry a wrench for the battery cable before I carried a extra gas cap.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The wrench is as&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;arbitarary as the cap.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I love the road\\\\\\; it is so chancy.

I put the cap inside the lid to one side so the lid will not close , so this way I can not loose a cap.
