Funny you mention this. It took me 2 years and 18,000 miles to notice that one of mine is farther back than the other...just noticed the other day! Now that I know about it I suppose it will bug me until I fix it.

After the dealer installed the docking hardware on mine when I bought the bike,I noticed that the bags did not not fit flush to the brackets.There was a 1/4-3/8 gap between the side of the bag and the front brackets.
To relieve the stress when securing the bags with the pins,I made some spacers that fit behind the front brackets to even the gap.
