Takes a long time to get use to it but once you do and learn to trust it no problem the bike is not going anywhere.

Never really thought about it before. But after looking at it, you're right it does act a little funny moving around like that. No problem though.

Quit worrying about it, it works fine. Or, you could do what everyone else is fixing to tell you and go lay out the cash for a centerstand. Kick the juffy stand out with foot, hold foot on stand until bike is leaned, turn forks to left to lock, bingo!

I ran into a friend who rides Ducati's at the local Cycle Gear one day. As I stepped off my new 09 Ultra, he jumped toward me trying to keep the bike from falling over. I laughed at him and explained the way Harley jiffy stand works. He thought it was screwy cause it made you think the bike was gonna fall over. I reminded him he had to modify the original stand on one of his older Ducati's cause it did fall over when he first got it. The brilliant Italians made a stand that snapped up as soon as you unloaded it. My friend got off the bike one day and it shifted just enough to unload the stand and down she went. Now that was a screwy design.
